FAQs

Q. Do you work in an environmentally friendly way?

We do our utmost best to keep waste to a minimum by ordering only what we need to use on your project.  Where possible, we use local firms to supply our materials thus cutting down on carbon emissions.

Q. Can you match bricks to my existing ones?

Yes we can, we use a brick matching service that guarantees a match to your existing bricks.

Q. Do you carry out the whole project on my home?

We carry out the majority of works but will also use our own reputable highly skilled tradesmen for things like plumbing and electrical works.

Q. Do I need planning permission for a conservatory?

There is a strict criteria as to whether you need to get planning permission for a conservatory, we can let you know at our onsite inspection whether your conservatory will need this.

Q. Before you start work on my conservatory is there anything I should do?

We will let you know when we survey your property for the first time if anything needs to be cleared in your garden area.  This will ensure a quicker start on your conservatory.

Q. Do you remove old conservatories?

We can do this for you if required.  If the structure is already on footings then that will also need to be cleared.

Q. Can you fit a catflap in my conservatory?

Yes we can fit these but it would need to be fitted on a solid panel door for stability.

Q. Do you supply quotations and contracts prior to work beginning?

Yes we certainly do and further details can be found here about our building contracts.

Q. Are you covered by insurance when working on my property?

Ourselves and any other tradesman we use all have public liability insurance, giving you complete peace of mind.

Q. How long does it take to complete a loft conversion?

It really does depend on the size and the type of conversion you have, as a rough guide we normally estimate between 6 and 8 weeks.  Dormer conversions usually take around 10-12 days longer than a Velux conversion.

Q. Can all types of lofts be converted?

No, not all lofts can be converted, it depends on the height in your loft.  You need to have not less than 8ft (2.4m) height in your existing loft).  We will advise you when we visit your property what is feasible in the area you have.

Q. Are there different types of loft conversions?

Yes there are different types, Velux, Dormer, Mansard and Double Mansard, we will explain the differences to you when we visit your home and discuss what is best for your property.

Q. What will happen to the water tanks in my loft?

Plumbers are able to move your water tanks, and if need be install new ones.

Q. What happens to the loft hatch that is already there?

We will ensure your loft hatch is safely secured and plastered over.

Q. Do you dispose of the rubble and rubbish?

Yes we will provide a skip to dispose of all the rubbish taken from your home, this will be listed in your quote.

Q. How much will it cost?

After we have carried out an initial survey we will give you an estimate which will detail all the works to be carried out and a listing of detailed costs.  It is important to note that it is an estimate but we will always let you know if we feel the costs may be higher.

Q. What shall I do next?

Give us a call or send us an email and we will arrange a home visit with you at a time that is convenient to you.
